Acting at the Root: For Polynesia without Abuse

Emergency rescue is vital, but it is not enough to resolve the crisis of wandering and abuse in Fenua.

Dobhelp Tahiti committed in the long term through concrete projects to sustainably transform the animal condition in French Polynesia.

Educational awareness

Education, the first lever of change. We firmly believe that respect for the animal is learned from an early age. Our project is to train volunteers to intervene in schools on the island in order to:

  • Transmit values of respect and well-contracting.

  • Explain the physiological and emotional needs of an animal.

  • Raising awareness of the responsibility of welcoming a companion.

Investing in the training of our children is building a more conscious and humane Polynesian society.

Proposals for "Country Laws"

A legal framework to protect our animals. The association shall submit to the authorities proposals for Laws Country to regulate animal possession and empower owners:

Mandatory sterilization
Generalize female sterilization to stop canine overpopulation (estimated at 500,000 individuals).

Detention permits
Create a mandatory permit to ensure that each owner meets the conditions necessary to accommodate a dog.

Application of sanctions
Encourage municipalities to firmly implement legislation against divagation and abuse.

Farming supervision
Reserve reproduction and sale only to professional breeders controlled by veterinary services.

Association Dobhelp Tahiti Projects

Towards massive sterilization

Moving from dressing to the real solution.

Currently, sterilization campaigns affect only a small part of the canine population. We are campaigning for a massive deployment of these campaigns across the country.

It is the only human and effective method to drastically reduce the number of dogs suffering in our streets.

Your donations also fund our educational materials and advocacy.
