Our daily actions: From distress to rebirth
Rescue and Emergency
To intervene where the emergency calls him.Every year we intervene on numerous reports of abuse or abandonment throughout the island of Tahiti.
Our priority is to secure the animal, assess its state of health and provide it with emergency first aid. Because every life counts, we fight for a dignified outcome for those who have been victims of cruelty or indifference.
The little ones but not only
The year 2025 will have allowed the association to also save this nice old mare completely « abandoned » by its owner in an awful pig park to let it die without food or water other than rain in water holes.
It was thanks to the denunciation of a Polynesian that the association brought in a veterinarian to treat her already with wounds to one of her previous members who also caused her suffering. The association has moved to a grassy field or finally it has been able to feed properly thanks to the help of this Polynesian who today continues to occupy by itself financing its granules etc.
A complaint was filed for serious ill-treatment but as usual the court is dragging and no conviction has yet been dropped a year later against its vile owner.
The Host Structure
A refuge of standards and human size.Located in Papara, our refuge is a transitional structure thought for animal welfare. In contrast to wandering, our residents find:
A secure shelter:Clean spaces adapted to rest.
A quality diet:We prefer balanced meals, often cooked « house », to promote rapid weight recovery.
Veterinary monitoring:Identification, vaccination and specific care for each dog collected.
Rehabilitation and Socialization
Treat invisible wounds.
Rescue is only the first step. Many dogs are traumatized. Our role is to re-learn their trust in humans.
Through patience and daily presence, we work on their socialization so that they can one day integrate a definitive family in the best possible conditions.
Sterilization Campaigns
To prevent suffering.
Animal protection requires control of canine overpopulation in Fenua. Dobhelp Tahiti actively engages in the sterilization of its protégés. It is the only effective and sustainable way to stop the cycle of animal misery and mass abandonment.
